12: Moodboard

I created this moodboard based on the key concepts of my music video. Musicians (society) taking the white man down. Therefore we have a black and with picture (which represends the concept of history) of Trump (representing the white, capitalist, anit-environment, rich man) in the middle, surounded by the power of music. I also put Roman refrences in the moodboard, because in the song there are some Roman empire refrences. On his shoulder is a picture of St. Peter "I know St. Peter won't call my name" which means that he won't go to heaven. The qoutes and some other picture like the megaphones, represent the main values and message of my video: critical thinking, togetherness, responsibility.

10: key elements to add in the video

Key elements:  (some ideas) 🎥 Instruments: cello, violin, piano. (Maybe on the green hill, behind my house, the steet, maybe also a scene where the violinst pushus the white man from the (steps, as in he is not standing and owning) Zwolls museum.  🎥 Zwolls museum: clasical building 🎥 Dance company: our Boris dance 🎥 A middle aged, captilist, white man in power - singing 🎥 White man working behind a desk working hard -> later shot, he has nothing to do. Maybe reseaving lot's email and later he has an empty inbox 🎥 White man standing on the balcony with on the streat cheering people -> in reality we see a the musicians playing as a protest against him -> the door back closes on him, so he is trapped on the balcony having to listen and singing back as a respons (a sort of battle emerges)  🎥 Church nearby our house, closes it's doors on the white man ("I know St. Peter won't call my name")

9: The perfect audience member

The perfect audience member: ♭ Leading Edge: activists, subtle activists ♭ Thinkers, storytellers  ♭ like acient languages and mythology  ♭ preferably vegan or vegitarian  ♭ mindfull consumers ♭ teenager, early adulthood  ♭ sensitive  ♭ light/dark academia, grunge, vintage, art styles ♭ they like more clasical music, but also other genres with more clasical instruments added My video will atract my perfect audience memeber, by telling the story of how the strong capitalist, anti environment, white middle age man are overtaken by the rest of society. There will be shots of instruments also playing an important role, by going against those people in power, like the cello, violin, piano, etc. Which will aline with the song. Also will there be acient roman and greek refrenses, through shots with pillars and acient building. There is a heavy emphesis on telling a story and not making a random video, with a random song. It is meant to add something to someones l...

7: 3 things to concider in the production

1: I would love to use real instruments. That is why I wanted a song with a more orchestral feel to it. In this song the cello is mostly used as a base, that is perfect, because I play the cello, so I can encorporate that in my video.  2: In my city in the Netherlands we have a museum that has a acient greek/roman astecic. In the song the sing about the roman pillars and their empire, so this it the perfect place to get some footage  3: Not to long a drive from my home, there is a lovely hilly area, a bit like dunes. That would be an interesting place to get that foreign power across.

6: Coldplay favorite videos

Clocks: I like that they filmed the instruments and the sort of 'life making of the music. There is no unreleated story there, just their story and them coming together and creating this peace together. For me it representates frienschip, creating and freedom.  Orphans: I like the astetic and the 'simplicity'. It is for everyone to understand and feels quite symilar to their music video 'Clocks'. Life in Technicolor ii: I like how creative, original and diffirent it is from anything I have every seen. I love how the puppetshow for young childeren takes over and become even more the stars of the show, even the parents aren't bored anymore.

5: Song Viva La Vida by coldplay

I have chosen the song Viva La Vida (meaning: Long live life), for multiple reseasons. It is an inspiring, motivational song and I lot of power is projected. It is also to great a social experiece out of it, it is easy to sing along. For al these reasons it could be considered an Anthem. I also choos this song, because it has a more orchestral base, mostly done by cellos, therefore the base is not as drumming and heavy as songs with drums, which I prefer. I also love classical laguages and mythology, this song has many refrenses to that, so I think I can do many interesting things with it.  The songs is created by the british rock band Coldplay. Most of their songs can be seen as stories, like for example one of their song the scientist. This makes it not just a random song, without meaning. By telling their stories people are able to conect and that can great validation, hope and inspiration.

4: key elements genre Athem

🎵  An  anthem  is a  musical composition  of  celebration , usually used as a symbol for a distinct group, particularly the  national anthems  of  countries .  🎵 An anthem sould be inspirationable . 🎵 Anthems are part of a shared experience, 🎵 Sometimes anthems are, by their nature, exclusive to a specific generation, era or moment. 🎵 An anthem speaks for  someone . 🎵 An anthem is uplifting, strongly identified with a group or individual, great chorus that will stand being sung badly.

3: History Sony

In september 1945, Masura Ibuka started a radio repair shop in Tokyo. The next year Akio Morita, his wartime research colleague joined him. On 7 may 1946 they founded a company called Tokyo Telecommunications Engineering Corporation (translated). This company produces the frist Japanees tape recorder, called the Type-G. In the early 1950s, Ibuka traveled to the United States. He was looking for a market for his tape recorder and heard about Bell Labs invention of the transistor. He got Bell to license the transistor technology to his company. The American companies Regency Electronics and Texas instruments built the first transistor radio, Ibuka's company made them commercially successful for the first time.  In August 1955, His company released the Sony TR-55, this was Japan's first commercially produces transistor radio. That December they released the TR-72, it did very well in Canada, Australia, The Netherlands and Germany.  In the following years they produced many more s...

Sophie Muller Music videos: -              Lot of emphasis on the face -           Zooms in on wealth items and the rest is subtle.   like jewellery, watches, glittery boots -           Uses a lot of slow motion -           Natural elements like water, trees or just the outdoors -           History elements with a twist. Eg. Adams picking an apple form the tree, but there are insects in them. Roman and ancient Egypt references combined -           Has many lying poses, bed, sofa, bath

Introduction

Hi,  My name is Veerle and this blog is made to create my NEA media studies work on. This years theme is Anthem. This is quite an interesting one and we will see what comes out of it in the end. It will be a bumpy ride before I am there and as Churchill already said 1940, it will take blood, sweat and tears, but it will be fun. I can't wait to throw myself into this project and see what I will learn along the way.
